Olivia J. Schoffstall, a third-year law student and Managing Senior Executive Editor at Baylor Law Review, recently tied for second place in the highly competitive Judicial Clerkship Opinion Writing Conference held at The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.
Schoffstall attributes much of her success to Baylor Law’s rigorous academic programs emphasizing practical legal writing from orientation through Practice Court. She emphasizes Baylor Law’s pivotal role in honing her writing abilities and preparing her for real-world legal challenges. “Baylor Law School has been instrumental in my growth as a writer. Its extensive legal writing and Practice Court programs have cultivated my written advocacy in trial and appellate court. The Judicial Clerkship Opinion Writing Conference was a great opportunity to apply and enhance what I have learned at Baylor Law. I feel well-prepared for my clerkship, thanks to Baylor’s strong focus on litigation and practical skills.”
Schoffstall will graduate from Baylor Law in the Spring of 2024, after which she will clerk through the 2024-2025 term for the Honorable Jeffrey V. Brown of the U.S. District & Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas in Galveston. Upon completing her clerkship, she will join the Houston office of Hogan Lovells.
