BEAUMONT - The Ferguson Law Firm has resolved a personal injury case on behalf of an Orange County woman for $2.1 million, a press release states.
The case arose from a motor vehicle crash that occurred outside of Bridge City, Texas in 2021. The woman, a 45-year-old professional, suffered a fractured hand that jeopardized her ability to continue her work.
Paul ‘Chip’ Ferguson, the managing partner at The Ferguson Law Firm, and attorney Jai Cosey represented the woman.
“This was an outstanding result, especially in Orange County,” Ferguson said. “Our firm worked very hard to demonstrate the full nature of this injury and that resulted in a tremendous outcome for our client. That is what we do at The Ferguson Law Firm.”
The crash occurred when an employee turned a company truck into the path of the plaintiff’s SUV causing the SUV to leave the roadway. The plaintiff incurred nearly $13,000 in medical expenses including the surgical repair to her broken hand.
“The amount of her medical expenses does not reflect the true nature of her injuries,” Ferguson said. “This very nice and very intelligent woman had spent many years in school to prepare for this work. Her injuries significantly reduced her ability to work and earn a living in her chosen profession, all because of an act of inexcusable negligence.”
Cosey added that it was an honor to represent the woman.
“She and her family are outstanding members of their community and exactly the type of people that our justice system should protect,” Cosey said. “I am very proud of this result.”
The Ferguson Law Firm operates from offices in Beaumont and Orange. It continues to live by the creed of the best result every time for every client, the press release states.
