Tax attorneys Abbey Garber and Lee Meyercord will serve as speakers during the tax controversy session at the Texas Federal Tax Institute's 2024 Conference in San Antonio. Mr. Garber will discuss the centralized partnership audit regime, established by the Bipartisan Budget Act (BBA), which replaces the Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act (TEFRA). He will analyze the current BBA procedures and provide critical insights for partnership audits under this legislation. Subsequently, Ms. Meyercord will analyze the Self-Employment Contributions Act (SECA), examining the limited partner exception and its applicability, in addition to strategies for addressing the issue.
