Troutman Pepper Locke Secures ACG Houston Deal of the Year Award for E&P Upstream for Second Consecutive Year

Troutman Pepper Locke has received the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Houston’s E&P Upstream Deal of the Year Award for the second consecutive year for serving as buyer counsel in WildFire Energy’s acquisition of Apache Corporation’s East Texas Eagle Ford assets.

Troutman Pepper Locke served as deal counsel to WildFire Energy, an independent energy platform company, in its acquisition of Apache Corporation’s East Texas Eagle Ford assets. Creating the largest consolidated acreage position in the Eagle Ford Shale Basin, a Houston and Dallas team represented WildFire Energy in the acquisition of 237,000 net acres and interests in 465 wells in the East Texas Eagle Ford from Apache Corporation and its subsidiaries. The Troutman Pepper Locke team that advised WildFire Energy was led by Hunter Summerford and Terry Radney and included Kevin Peter, Lauren Richter, Case Towslee, Marshall Moorhouse, Jerry Higdon, Buddy Sanders, Andrew Nelson, David Harrell, Elizabeth Guffy, and Van Jolas.

ACG Houston announced the Deal of the Year winners at its eighth annual awards ceremony on April 30 at the Houston Country Club. The event celebrated Houston’s booming middle-market deal community, honoring the deals and dealmakers who drive middle market growth and their success in generating job growth, capital formation, and the advancement of meaningful business relationships in the Houston community. Award winners were selected by an independent panel of judges including top business leaders and educators.
