The family of Lonnie LaFleur, the worker who lost his life last month while extracting a heat exchanger at the Dupont plant in Orange, Texas, has filed a wrongful death suit.
Between the years of 1964 to 1985 Louie Fittz claims he worked at several area refineries. Now residing in Deweyville, Fittz says he was recently diagnosed with an asbestos-related disease and is suing the American Optical Corp., along with 15 other companies, for "negligently exposing him to asbestos," while "fraudulently concealing" the mineral's latent dangers.
Keith Hyde The family of Frederick Schultz mourned his death almost two years ago. They claim his former employer, Chicago Bridge & Iron Co., exposed him to asbestos, which ultimately caused him to die of mesothelioma.
Shirley Jeanis, the executrix of the estate of Alfred Jeanis, is suing the Chevron Phillips Chemical Co., along with 28 other petrochemical suppliers, for exposing Alfred Jeanis to benzene.
Keith Hyde The benefactor of a former Dupont De Nemours employee is suing the Jefferson County chemical plant, along with a dozen other oil corporations, for exposing the late Earl Dean Thompson to benzene.
