McALLEN – A federal judge recently granted State Farm Lloyds summary judgment in three different hail lawsuits, all of which were brought by Mostyn Law in Houston.
AUSTIN – For the past year, an appeal brought by State Farm Lloyds has been before the Texas Supreme Court, in which the insurer’s allies contend trial lawyers are abusing discovery to force settlements in storm lawsuits.
DALLAS – For more than a year now, State Farm Lloyds has been battling the surge of mass litigation being brought against all insurers within the state, capturing 16 trial wins before recently losing.
BEAUMONT – The Ninth Court of Appeals is set to review a State Farm Lloyds appeal, which seeks to wipe a $260k jury verdict on the grounds that the opinions of the plaintiff’s expert witnesses were “unreliable and inadmissible.” The appeal stems from a week long trial against State Farm that took place in May 2015.
HOUSTON – After reviewing several “voluminous” filings, a federal judge has rejected an insurance company’s bid to keep The Voss Law firm locked in litigation it suspects was brought on a plaintiff’s behalf without her knowledge, agreeing the firm’s behavior was “concerning” but ultimately not a matter for the court.
