A Jefferson County man is suing a driver, alleging negligence in a car wreck in Beaumont.
Timothy Moore filed a lawsuit June 18 in Jefferson County District Court against Aaronn Fisher of Beaumont, alleging liability in a 2014 collision.
According to the suit, on Sept. 27, 2014, Moore was injured when he was struck by the defendant’s vehicle while driving along College Street in Beaumont. The suit says Fisher was found at fault and issued a citation at the time when he failed to change lanes safely.
The lawsuit states Fisher failed to control his speed, keep a proper lookout, apply his brakes, drive safely, pay attention, turn his vehicle to avoid impact, and follow traffic laws.
Moore alleges he sustained serious injuries to his back, spine and general body, and says his injuries were caused by the defendant’s negligence. The plaintiff alleges pain, mental anguish, heightened anxiety, impairment and discomfort, lost wages and earning capacity, diminished everyday functioning and medical expenses.
Moore seeks up to $100,000 in compensation for punitive and exemplary damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney fees, expenses and costs.
He is represented by attorney Gilbert T. Adams III of Gilbert Adams Law Office in Beaumont.
