Two Louisiana relatives are suing over claims they were injured in a collision on Interstate Highway 10 in Jefferson County.
Morgan Wilson Eastman and Cade Wesley Eastman filed a lawsuit Sept. 29 in Jefferson County District Court against Lorena Martinez, citing negligence.
According to the complaint, Martinez was driving west in the right lane of Interstate 10 in Jefferson County on Feb. 7, when she abruptly and unsafely changed lanes from the Highway 69 North exit to continue on I-10 West and collided with the Eastmans' vehicle.
The complaint states Morgan Wilson Eastman was driving the vehicle while Cade Wesley Eastman was a passenger, and both sustained serious injuries to their cervical spine, shoulders and neck. The Eastmans say Martinez was cited for unsafe lane change and no driver's license (while unlicensed). She is accused of negligence.
The Eastmans seek damages, including medical expenses and lost wages, interest and costs of court. They are represented by attorney J. Lee Hoffoss Jr. of Hoffoss Devall in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
