Man says he was injured at saloon

A Harris County man is suing over claims he was injured on the staircase of a saloon during the 2012 Lone Star Rally.

David Massey filed a lawsuit Oct. 31 in Galveston County District Court against Lone Star Rally Inc., individually and doing business as Devil's Cut Saloon, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 3, 2012, Massey was at 24th Street and The Strand in Galveston, which was being operated by the defendant as the Devil's Cut Saloon during the 2012 Lone Star Rally, when he slipped on wet steps on his way to the balcony, struck his head on a window and fell backward on the floor. Massey says he sustained injuries, and the defendant is accused of negligence/premises liability in failing to maintain the premises or warn the plaintiff of the hazardous condition.

Massey seeks more than $100,000 in damages, including loss of earnings and medical expenses, interest and costs of court. He is represented by attorney Deborah L. Bradley of Stern Law Group in Bellaire.
