A Jefferson County woman is suing over claims she was injured in a collision in Beaumont.
Bertha Lights filed a lawsuit Oct. 9 in Jefferson County District Court against Adrien T. Bates-Babineaux, citing negligence.
According to the complaint, Lights was traveling on the Interstate 10 feeder road at Calder Avenue in Beaumont on June 26, when her vehicle was violently rear-ended by Bates-Babineaux's vehicle. Lights says she sustained injuries to her neck and right shoulder, as well as headaches. Bates-Babineaux is accused of negligence, negligence per se and gross negligence in failing to control her speed and maintain a proper lookout.
Lights seeks damages, including medical expenses, costs of court and interest. She is represented by attorney Wes Klinger Jr. of Wes Klinger Law Office in Beach City.
