Gas station owner says pump, pay system improperly installed

An Orange County company is suing over claims a fuel and payment system at its gas station was improperly installed.

JH Houseman Properties filed a lawsuit Nov. 10, 2014, in Jefferson County District Court against Dunphey Petroleum Services Inc., PumpTex Inc., and VeriFone Holdings Inc., citing breach of contract.

According to the complaint, on May 12, 2012, the plaintiff hired Dunphey to install new fuel and VeriFone payment systems at its gas station and convenience store on South Main Street in Vidor, and Dunphey contracted various tasks to PumpTex. JH Houseman says the system failed to properly perform when it opened to the public Nov. 30, 2012, due to the system being improperly installed or a defect, and the defendants' repeated repair attempts have not fixed it.

The plaintiff is represented by attorneys Clint Brasher and Joe Muckleroy of Beaumont.
