Woman wants to preserve testimony

A woman is filing to perpetuate testimony for future litigation against Chevron U.S.A.

Mary Ann Jackson filed a petition to perpetuate the testimony of Barry Jackson on Nov. 13, 2014, in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the complaint, Mary Ann Jackson anticipates a future wrongful death lawsuit against Barry Jackson's former employer, Chevron U.S.A. Inc. The complaint states Barry Jackson suffers from myeloma, and information regarding his history of exposure to chemicals in his work is needed for future litigation.

Mary Ann Jackson is represented by attorney Darren L. Brown of Provost Umphrey Law Firm in Beaumont.
