Woman blames La. trucking firm for injuries

A Frankston woman has sued a Louisiana trucking company for injuries she allegedly sustained in an accident involving one of its drivers.

Lauren Jester, 18, filed a lawsuit Jan. 27 in the Marshall Division of Eastern District of Texas against W.J. Thomas Trucking Inc. of Frierson, La.

According to the complaint, on or about Dec. 23, 2013, Jester was traveling eastbound on Interstate 20 in Smith County when a tractor trailer belonging to the defendant and driven by Milton Green collided with hers, causing her car to leave the road and travel down an embankment and causing her to suffer back and neck injuries.

Jester charges the defendant with failure to control speed and to allow enough distance between the two vehicles and avoid collision.

According to the suit, Jester suffered severe and traumatic injuries and loss of quality of life having suffered a serious accident at a young age. She seeks damages in excess of $75,000 for medical bills, physical injury, loss of earning capacity, attorney fees, expenses and costs.

Jester is represented by the Law Office of Keith Miller in Tyler, and attorney Blake Erskine of Erskine & McMahon in Longview.
