A Harris County man has sued several power tool manufacturers after he allegedly suffered injuries.
Joseph Williams filed a lawsuit in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas on Feb. 6 against Black & Decker Inc., The Black & Decker Corporation, Delta International Machinery Corp. and Delta Power Equipment Corporation.
According to the complaint, the table saw that Williams used did not incorporate the latest safety improvements and there was difficulty in using the blade guard. According to the suit, the defendants were aware of safer design alternatives subsequent to the product's distribution and purchase but did not make substitutions.
Williams alleges physical disfigurement and suffering, citing product liability, negligence and breach of implied warranty.
Williams seeks damages, attorneys fees, expenses and costs. He is represented by attorneys David Anderson and Andrew Cook of Cook & Anderson Law Firm in Corpus Christi.
