Driver, passenger file suit in collision

Side swipe wreck

Two Galveston County women sued an Alvin man, alleging damages from a traffic violation.

Jaide Siler and Georgia Jones filed a lawsuit Jan. 7 in Galveston County District Court against Shannon Ringuet, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 10, 2013, the plaintiffs, riding in Siler’s car, were rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Ringuet when their vehicle was coming to a stop on FM 146. The complaint cites personal injuries to both women.

The suit states Ringuet used carelessness in failure to keep a proper lookout for the plaintiff’s vehicle, failure to turn his car in order to avoid collision and failure to apply his brakes in a timely manner.

The plaintiffs suffered physical pain, suffering and impairment, and disfigurement, past and future loss of earning capacity, and mental anguish, along with property damage to Siler’s vehicle, according to the suit.

Siler and Jones seek compensation for medical expenses, attorney fees, expenses and costs. They are represented by attorney Christopher Bertini of the Bertini Law Firm in Galveston.
