A Jefferson County woman has sued a Groves driver, alleging vehicular negligence in a 2014 traffic incident.
Meltasha Moore filed a lawsuit March 18 in Jefferson County District Court against Miguel Molina of Groves, alleging several counts of negligence in an automobile collision.
According to the complaint, on Dec. 19, 2014, Moore was driving southbound in the outside lane of the 5500 block of U.S. 69 and when she stopped for traffic, Molina’s vehicle struck her from behind. Moore sustained injuries to her neck and general body, the suit states, and she required medical care and treatment.
The lawsuit says the defendant was negligent in failing to maintain complete control of his car, exercise care and diligence, maintain an appropriate speed and drive safely and attentively. Moore cites physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, lost wages and diminished earning capacity, loss of enjoyment of everyday life and past and future physical impairment.
Moore seeks: between $200,000 and $1 million in compensation for medical expenses; pre- and post-judgment interest; attorney fees; expenses and costs. She is represented by attorney Clay Dugas of Beaumont.
