Austin contractors allege unpaid bill

Past due

An Austin construction equipment firm has sued a contractor, alleging an unpaid bill.

Sunbelt Rentals Inc., of Austin, filed a lawsuit April 20 in Galveston County District Court against: JVC Enterprises Inc.; Katy Orchard Park Partners (formerly known as League City Orchard Park Partners); Katy ALGP; Francisco Javier Cibrian (also known as Javier Cibrian); and Weis Builders Inc., citing breach of contract.

According to the complaint, from June 2013 to August 2013, Sunbelt entered into an agreement with JVC, personally guaranteed by Cibrian, for Sunbelt to provide construction equipment to improve Victory Lakes Town Center, owned by League City. Weis Builders was a contractor for the project, the suit says.

The lawsuit says the plaintiff is still waiting to be paid.

Sunbelt seeks the unpaid balance of $11,852.55, plus attorney fees and court costs. It is represented by Barnett and Garcia in Austin.

Galveston County District Court case number: 15-CV-0390.
