The Provost Umphrey Law Firm in Beaumont has begun to initiate an asbestosis lawsuit against several companies.
Betty Dillard filed a petition to perpetuate the testimony of Kenneth Dillard on May 7 in Jefferson County District Court.
The potential defendants to be named in the suit are Goodrich, Chevron USA, Huntsman Petrochemical and Texaco.
According to the petition, Kenneth has been diagnoses with asbestosis – a disease expected to progress and prove fatal.
Betty has notified the aforementioned companies that a gross negligence, wrongful death suit will be initiated, which will allege Kenneth was exposed to asbestos-containing products during his employment with B.F. Goodrich, Neches Butane and Unocal.
The substance of testimony sought concerns Kenneth’s exposure history.
Betty asks the court to authorize his deposition.
