Due to Hurricane Ike, the Lamar University alumni affairs office has rescheduled the Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner.

The annual event, originally scheduled for Sept. 20, is now scheduled for Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at the University Reception Center on the eighth floor of the Mary and John Gray Library.

Reservations are required.

The honorees are Madelyn Hunt, Bart Simmons and Don Lyle.

Hunt ('69) has served her alma mater for 35 years as teacher, advisor and administrator.

Simmons ('78, '79) was a letterman in football and student government president during his college career which culminated in a bachelor's degree in business and a master of business administration degree.

Lyle ('06) was awarded several patents for computer architecture throughout his 16 years with the Burroughs Corporation.
