A local company is being sued for refusing to supply one of its employees with a transgender bathroom. Fire guard Gerald Jeanmard, a male who associates himself with the female gender, started using the women's restroom after his male co-workers objected to him being in the men's room. When the women kicked him out, Jeanmard's employer, KT Maintenance Co., reassigned him then fired him.
Currently "going through the process of a sex transition to become a female gender," Jeanmard is alleging KT Maintenance was fully aware of his gender preference but chose to discriminate against him by terminating him rather than accommodating his transgender needs.
