Orange Co. evacuation order rescinded

The Orange County Office of Emergency Management has announced that the Mandatory Evacuation Order is lifted as of 6 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20.

Curfew hours are midnight to 6 a.m., except for Bridge City, which as a 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew.

Registration for the Blue Roof program, a free program to have damaged roofs covered with a blue tarp by Corps of Engineers contractors, is available at Bridge City High School and 195 W. Bolivar Street, Vidor.

The American Red Cross is serving hot meals at Old First Baptist Church and at the VFW on N. Hwy 87. Red Cross supplies are available at Richard's (Old Luby's parking lot)and Red Cross Chapter IH-10 in Orange. Catholic Charities personnel will be available at St. Helen Catholic Church, 8105 Hwy 1442.

PODs are open at Bridge City Intermediate, W. Roundbunch; Oak Forest Elementary School,Vidor; and BIG LOTS parking lot,Orange.

The "Boil Water" notice remains in effect for Water Necessities Incorporated, Aqua Texas, city of Bridge City and North Orange Water & Sewer.
