Brent Coon
For those who were affected by Hurricane Ike, Beaumont attorney Brent Coon has slated a series of upcoming seminars and a Web site to inform the public on their possible litigious options.
"Remember - Insurance companies have teams of adjusters and attorneys protecting their interest, Brent Coon & Associates can help level the playing field," the new Web site, IHateIke.com, states.
In addition to the Web site, Brent Coon & Associates, which deems itself as "one of the U.S.' most powerful law firms," will host recovery seminars at a number of area union halls.
"First – we need to get the word out– too many mistakes are made simply because of the lack of trustworthy information and knowledge of where to get it," the Web site states.
In radio spots blanketing the area, Coon & Associates encourages residents take preemptive action against their insurance companies and contractors.
"Ike has created a series of problems for many residences of Southeast Texas – people don't need more problems in dealing with contractors or more importantly, their insurance companies," the IHateIke Web site says.
"Brent Coon & Associates cares about this community and is getting involved."
Coon's community involvement includes helping people with legal issues if they have questions or want to sue because of a supposed underpaid claim, unfair adjuster or shady contractor.
"Brent Coon & Associates can act as your own insurance attorney to stand up for your rights and ensure fair treatment by your insurance company," the Web site states.
"Don't wait until your estimates are too low or your insurance company denies your claim, underpays or gives you the run around."
In a video clip on the Web site, BCA attorney Lori K. Slocum says the firm is out to help the little guy, not turn a profit.
"It's not about making a dollar for the firm or for ourselves; it's actually about helping people," Slocum says. "…That's our main concern, and that's what drives us."
The law firm has enlisted the help of United Steel Workers to provide its area union halls as locations for the seminars.
