Nov. 13

  • George Woods vs. State Farm Lloyds

    PA - Tom Kiehnhoff, J - Donald Floyd

    Claiming his insurance company "launched an aggressive litigation campaign to limit its liability for water damage caused by hurricanes," the plaintiff is suing State Farm for refusing to pay at least a portion of his Hurricane Ike claim.

    The plaintiff is seeking actual and consequential damages.

  • Yasmin Maredia vs. Jesse Gilchriest III

    PA - James Wimberley, J - Milton Shuffield

    On Nov. 16, 2006, the plaintiff was traveling on West Cardinal Drive when the defendant rear-ended her. The plaintiff alleges the defendant negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and is suing for past and future mental anguish, medical expenses, impairment and disfigurement, plus all court costs.

  • Taylor & Lawson Inspections vs. Gulf Copper & Manufacturing Corp.

    PA - Karalyn Cromeens, J - Bob Wortham

    Between the months of September and March 2007, the plaintiff asserts it provided inspection services for the defendant.

    The plaintiff is suing to recover $674,392.60 in unpaid invoices.

    The plaintiffs are suing the insurance company for allegedly refusing to pay at least a portion of their Hurricane Rita claim. The plaintiffs are seeking actual and consequential damages.

  • Narcisco and Maria Balderrama vs. Anahuac Transport Inc.

    PA - Fred Willumsen, J - Donald Floyd

    The plaintiffs are suing the corporate defendant and one of its truck drivers, who allegedly caused an automobile collision on May 22, 2007 when he failed to yield the right-of-way.

    The incident took place in Harris county.

    The plaintiffs allege the defendant driver negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and is suing for past and future mental anguish, medical expenses, impairment and disfigurement, plus all court costs.

  • Thomas Ambriati et al vs. Motiva Enterprises

    PA - Matthew Matteny, J - Gary Sanderson

    Ambriati, along with plaintiffs Lucan Jones, Anthony Phillips and John Coleman, are suing Motiva for injuries they allegedly received on June 2 when raw oil products were dumped on them after a shut down at the refinery.

    The plaintiffs are suing for past and future mental anguish, medical expenses, impairment and disfigurement, plus all court costs.

  • M.J. et al vs. Kerry Foulk

    PA - Tommy Yeates, J - Gary Sanderson

    The plaintiff alleges the defendant sexually assaulted his/her minor daughter on Sept. 19, 2006.

    The plaintiff claims the defendant has been brought up on charges and has pleaded guilty.

    The plaintiff' had allowed the daughter to spend the night at 46-year-old Foulk's house when the incident took place.

    On Dec. 20, 2006, the plaintiff was a passenger in defendant's car when the defendant allegedly failed to control his speed when turning on a wet roadway and slammed into a cement overpass support.

    The plaintiff alleges the defendant negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and is suing for past and future mental anguish, medical expenses, impairment and disfigurement, plus all court costs.

  • Virgie Broussard vs. City of Port Arthur and Frank Standley

    On June 25 the plaintiff was a passenger on a city buss that was approaching the Highway 73 access road when the bus ran a red light and was hit by Standley, who was allegedly driving at a "highly excessive speed."

    The plaintiff alleges the defendants negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and is suing for past and future mental anguish, medical expenses, impairment and disfigurement, plus all court costs.

  • Barbara Evans vs. Reed Doub

    On Sept. 4, 2007, the plaintiff was in an automobile collision with the defendant that took place on Old Dowlen Road. The suit does not give any details on how the incident occurred.

    The plaintiff alleges the defendant negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and is suing for past and future mental anguish, medical expenses, impairment and disfigurement, plus all court costs.

  • Christina Simpson vs. Jared Richards

    On June 26 the plaintiff was struck by the defendant when he allegedly failed to stop for stopped traffic.

    The plaintiff alleges the defendant negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and is suing for past and future mental anguish, medical expenses, impairment and disfigurement, plus all court costs.
