Latest hurricane-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County

A total of 13 suits regarding hurricane damage claims were filed against insurance companies in Jefferson County District Court during the week of May 4-8, 2009.

The following suits regarding Hurricane Ike were filed:

  • Deloris Hagger 1433 Golden St. in Port Arthur alleges State Farm Lloyds denied her claim for roof, water, wind, foundation and structural damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13. J. Steve Mostyn and George Edwards III of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston and Michael R. Ramsey and Gregory F. Cox of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont will be representing her.   • Edward and Eura Senigaur of 4465 Corley St. in Beaumont allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for roof, water, wind, contents and structural damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13. TWIA denied the claim after its Vice President of Claim Reggie Warren assigned IMS Claims and Catastrophe Services and Matthew Lusk to investigate. The Senigaurs are represented by J. Steve Mostyn and George Edwards III of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston and Michael R. Ramsey and Gregory F. Cox of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont.   • Hugh R. Ferguson Sr. Irrevocable Living Trust of 1510 Kotz Road in Nome alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied its claim for roof, water, wind, foundation and structural damages after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13. TWIA denied the claim after it Vice President of Claims Reggie Warren assigned IMS Catastrophe Services and adjusters Manuel Cervoni, Randy Howle and James McRae to investigate. The trust is represented by Rene M. Sigman and J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: A183-955.

  • Francis Rambo of 2766 Reins Road in Beaumont alleges Foremost Lloyds of Texas denied his claim for roof, water, wind, structural and contents damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13. Rambo is represented by Rene M. Sigman and J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: A183-956.

  • Lee Johnson of 575 North 7th St. in Beaumont alleges Farmers Insurance Exchange denied his claim for roof, water, wind and contents damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13.   • Joe A. and Modestine Hill 2138 Cashmere Ave. in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for roof, water, wind and foundation damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13. The Hills say TWIA denied their claim after its Vice President of Claims Reggie Warren assigned Legacy Claim Services and adjusters Jeffrey Goretzke, Chadwick Eddy and John Carpenter to investigate.   • Robert Teate of 802 17th St. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for dwelling and contents damages caused to his home after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13.   • Ricky Londo of 1540 Ave. G in Beaumont alleges Capitol County Mutual Fire Insurance Company denied his claim for dwelling and contents damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13. Londo is represented by Jason M. Byrd of Snider and Byrd in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D184-009.

  • Collins O'Kehie of 7726 Candlegreen Lane in Houston alleges Ranchers and Farmers Mutual Insurance Company denied his claim for dwelling and contents damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13. O'Kehie is represented by Jason M. Byrd and Wyatt D. Snider of Byrd and Snider in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: E184-010.

  • Clifton and June Reeves of 5 Winchester Cove in Beaumont allege State Farm Lloyds denied their claim for roof, water, wind, contents and structural damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13.   • Reginald and Denise Boykin of 17715 Highway 73 in Beaumont allege Texas Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company denied their claim for dwelling and contents damages caused to their home after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13.
