Port Arthur man sued for non-payment of credit card

LTD Acquistions is suing a Port Arthur man who it says owes it more than $30,000 in credit card payments.

LTD Acquisitions filed a lawsuit July 27 in Jefferson County District Court against Khau Nguyen.

LTD Acquisitions claims Nguyen breached a credit card agreement he entered into with Chase Bank after he stopped making payments on the card.

Although LTD has demanded payments from Nguyen, he has refused to pay it, according to the complaint.

"As of June 11, 2009, there continues to be owed by Defendant to the Plaintiff an unpaid principal balance of $32,058.75 and accrued interest of $6,318.65," the suit states. "Interest continues to accrue to the Account at the rate of 6 percent per annum."

In addition to the money it says it is due, LTD Acquisitions is seeking pre- and post-judgment interest at 6 percent per annum or at the maximum rate allowed by law, attorney's fees of at least $8,826.80, costs and other relief to which it may be entitled.

Michael J. Scott, Blue Rannefeld and Judith Morgan of the law office of Michael J. Scott in Carrollton will be representing him.

The case has been assigned to Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court.
