  • Sherry Huckaby vs. Foremost Lloyd's of Texas et al

    PA - Alan McLemore, J - Dennis Powell

    The plaintiff is suing the insurance company and several of its adjusters for denying at least a portion of the plaintiff's Hurricane Ike policy claim.

    The plaintiff alleges the defendants are guilty of several Texas Insurance Code violations and of violating the DTPA.

    The plaintiff is suing for actual and consequential damages, plus attorney's fees.

  • Jeffery Mendoza et al vs. Brittney Kristine Alleman

    On Jan. 15, 2008, the plaintiff claims the defendant caused an automobile collision.

    The suit does not state where or how the incident occurred.

    The plaintiff alleges the defendant driver negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and is suing for past and future mental anguish, impairment, lost earnings and pain, plus attorney's fees.

    On Aug. 7 the plaintiff was traveling on the Interstate 10 service road when he was rear-ended by the defendant while attempting to merge onto the interstate.

    The plaintiff alleges the defendant driver negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and is suing for past and future mental anguish, impairment, lost earnings and pain, plus attorney's fees.

    From 1946 to 1980, Reginald Franklin worked at the DuPont facility in Orange. In April, he died from lung cancer.

    Now, Franklin's children are claiming his long term employer and 20 other companies maliciously and purposefully exposed him to asbestos.

    Some of the defendants named in the suit include ABCO Industries, Owens Illinois and the A.W. Chesteron Company.

    His children are seeking exemplary damages.
