Port Arthur resident Richard Williams has filed suit against Turner Industries Group and one of its employees, Ernest Salazar, who ran over a wire Williams was holding and dragged him across the floor.
The suit was filed April 25 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on May 24, 2010, Williams, a Motiva Enterprises employee, was working at the oil company's Port Arthur premises when Salazar "drove a cart over a visible wire held" by him, dragging him across the floor for a considerable distance.
The suit faults Turner Industries for negligently failing to properly train and supervise Salazar.
The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.
Attorney James Payne of the Beaumont law firm Provost Umphrey represents him.
Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, has been assigned to the case.
