Auto wreck suit says defendant drove too fast

A Jefferson County man says he suffered severe personal injuries after an automobile collision.

Dwight J. Mitchell filed a lawsuit Jan. 28 in Jefferson County District Court against Chad Michael Mouhot and Leanna Mouhot.

Mitchell claims he became involved in a collision on Nov. 1, 2008, due to the negligence of the defendants.

According to the complaint, Mitchell suffered physical pain, physical impairment, physical disfigurement and emotional distress; incurred medical costs; and lost his ability to enjoy life because of the accident.

The defendants negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove too fast, failed to yield the right-of-way, lacked proper control and failed to timely apply the brakes, the suit states.

Mitchell seeks a judgment within the jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs and other relief to which he may be entitled.

J. Trenton Bond of Reaud, Morgan and Quinn in Beaumont will be representing him.

The case has been assigned to Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court.

Jefferson County District Court case number: D185-824.
