A Williamson County woman claims she suffered physical pain and mental anguish after a driver rear-ended her.
Tracy Joseph Semien filed a lawsuit Feb. 3 in Jefferson County District Court against Wil-Johnson Vernice Ardoin.
Semien claims at about 5:48 p.m. on Feb. 6, 2008, she was driving north at the intersection of Smith Road and Kidd Road in Beaumont when Ardoin, who was driving behind her, attempted to turn left onto Kidd Road, but struck her instead.
Because of the accident, Semien lost her earning capacity; suffered disfigurement and physical impairment; incurred medical costs and suffered out-of-pocket expenses, the suit states.
She blames Ardoin for causing the accident, saying he failed to control his speed, failed to timely apply his brakes and failed to drive safely.
Semien seeks unspecified damages, plus costs, interest and other relief the court deems just.
Andrew Wilbur of Jim S. Adler and Associates in Houston will be representing her.
The case has been assigned to Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court.
Jefferson County District Court case number: D185-857.
