A man has filed suit against the driver he says hit him as she was pulling out of a private driveway.
Regan Lee Jones claims he was driving south on the 8700 block of Highway 347 in Port Arthur when defendant Tressa Lynn Hill pulled out of a driveway.
Because of the collision, Jones suffered physical pain, mental anguish and physical disfigurement; incurred medical expenses; and lost his earning capacity and household services, according to the complaint filed Feb. 16 in Jefferson County District Court. In addition, he suffered property damage, lost use of his vehicle, incurred repair costs and lost wages, the suit states.
Hill negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to apply her brakes, drove too fast, failed to turn to avoid a collision, failed to control the speed of her vehicle and failed to enter the road only when it was safe to do so, the complaint says.
Jones seeks an unspecified judgment, plus pre-judgment interest at the maximum rate allowed by law, post-judgment interest at the legal rate, costs and other relief to which he may be entitled.
James M. Lassiter III and Timothy M. McHale of Lassiter Law Firm in Houston will be representing him.
The case has been assigned to Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court.
Jefferson County Circuit Court case number: D185-932.
