A Hardin County man claims he sustained injuries to his neck, back and body after a truck driver backed into his vehicle.
Kenneth Stanley filed a lawsuit March 25 in Jefferson County District Court against Jonathan Anthony Joseph and Coca-Cola Enterprises.
Stanley claims he parked his vehicle in a private parking lot at 9135 College St. in Beaumont and remained sitting in it when a truck, owned by Coca-Cola and driven by Joseph, backed into the front of Stanley's vehicle.
In addition to his injuries, Stanley has noticed a deterioration in his physical and mental condition, suffered great physical and mental pain and anguish and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint.
Stanley blames Joseph for causing the accident, saying he failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to check the area behind his truck before putting it into reverse, failed to drive in a safe manner, failed to apply his brakes in a timely manner and failed to apply his brakes to avoid a collision.
In his complaint, Stanley seeks an unspecified judgment, plus interest, costs and other relief to which he may be entitled.
Brandon P. Monk of The Monk Law Firm in Nederland will be representing him.
The case has been assigned to Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court.
