Man injured in portable toilet files lawsuit

GALVESTON - A Harris County man has filed suit against a Clute-based material supply company for injuries to his right arm and wrist he suffered after using the restroom.

Michael Ramirez says that, on April 1, 2008, he was in the process of getting out of a portable restroom at a local BP plant when a truck belonging to Miken Specialties Ltd. went by and struck the door.

Ramirez claims the door slammed on his right arm and wrist, causing significant injuries, according to the suit filed March 29 in Galveston County District Court.

Ramirez reported the incident immediately and sought treatment.

Neither BP nor the driver of the truck in question are named as defendants in the case.

The plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by The Pinkerton Law Firm PLLC.

Galveston County 10th District Court Judge David Garner is presiding over the case.
