Orange attorney Sandee Hart is suing her former partner, a Louisiana lawyer, for not paying his fair share during their partnership.
Hart filed suit against Barton Bernard on April 6 in Orange County District Court.
Formerly of Bernard & Hart, Hart is actively seeking attorney's fees and other expenses she claims she earned when she shared an office with Bernard in Louisiana.
In her suit, Hart says she and Bernard entered into a contract and agreed to split attorney's fees and the cost of advertising.
"Since the agreement was entered into in April 2008 ... the office operated in Lafayette by defendant has paid only $1,350 in attorney's fees to plaintiff for any Bernard & Hart case and (has) wholly failed to pay plaintiff's reimbursable expenses," the suit states.
Hart is suing for actual damages and her mental anguish.
She is representing herself.
The case has been assigned to Judge Pat Clark, 128th Judicial District.
