Nederland resident Mary Tompkins is suing motorist Sunny Hopper for making an improper left turn and striking her vehicle.
The suit was filed April 8 in Orange County District Court.
Court papers show that on Aug. 3 Tompkins was traveling in the inside lane of South Street when Hopper made an "improper" left turn from the outside lane and struck Tompkins' vehicle on the passenger side.
In her suit, Tompkins alleges Hopper negligently failed to maintain a proper lookout and failed to safely change lanes.
She is suing for past and future medical expenses, mental anguish and lost wages.
She is represented by attorney David LaRue of Loncar & Associates.
The case has been assigned to Judge Dennis Powell, 163rd Judicial District.
