Brownsville man sues over injuries sustained on ship

GALVESTON - A Brownsville man is suing his employer over injuries he reportedly suffered two years ago while working on a ship.

Robin Taliancich's personal injury lawsuit against G & H Towing Co. alleges the defendant was negligent with the maintenance of the vessel Titan.

The suit was filed April 19 in Galveston County District Court.

Court papers do not elaborate on the exact circumstances which resulted in Taliancich's complaint, but the suit claims the plaintiff sustained "several and painful injuries to his back and shoulder, among other parts of his body."

"Such occurrences and such injuries occurred as a proximate result of the unsafe and unseaworthy condition of the Titan," the original petition says.

Consequently, Taliancich seeks damages for physical pain, mental anguish, lost wages, and medical expenses as well as a jury trial.

Houston attorney Matthew D. Shaffer is representing the plaintiff, and Galveston County 122nd District Court Judge John Ellisor is presiding over the case.
