Galveston Co. man seeks $50,000 from auto wreck

GALVESTON - A Galveston County man is suing Sunbelt Rentals Inc. for more than $50,000 after colliding with one of its employees more than a month ago.

Wey Tan alleges Bradley J. Lankford of League City drove a company-owned vehicle while intoxicated in the 4600 block of the Spur 5 service road in Houston the night of March 11 when the two motorists became involved in a head-on collision.

Lankford was driving the wrong way down a one-way street when he struck the plaintiff's Mazda M3, according to the suit filed April 28 in Galveston County District Court.

Tan claims Lankford attempted to flee the scene after the collision.

As a result of the collision, the plaintiff suffered severe injuries to his shoulder, neck, back, right leg, right knee, and other parts of his body, the suit says.

Tan requests a jury trial in addition to monetary compensation.

He is represented by attorneys Tony G. Buzbee and Sean E. O'Rourke of Houston.

The case has been assigned to Galveston County 10th District Court Judge David Garner.
