Suit blames fall in market on recently mopped floor

GALVESTON - A Galveston County man blames Arlan's Markets Inc. for multiple injuries he sustained from a fall at the company's Galveston store almost two years ago, recent court documents say.

Plaintiff Marvin Bryson claims he was walking through the Arlan's Market near the University of Texas Medical Branch on June 27, 2008, when he slipped on the floor and hit his head.

The suit was filed May 18 in Galveston County Court No. 2.

Prior to the alleged incident, an employee was mopping the area without warning signs, Bryson claims.

The plaintiff states that he suffered injuries to his leg, back and elbow in addition to his head.

Attorney Anthony P. Griffin of Galveston is representing the plaintiff, and Galveston County Court No. 2 Judge C.G. "Trey" Dibrell III is presiding over the case.
