Waiting for traffic to start moving, Barbara Johnson claims Anthony Robinson, a John Smith Trucking employee, rear-ended her on the interstate.
She filed suit against Robinson and his employer June 7 in Orange County District Court.
Court records show that on Aug. 13, 2008, Johnson was stalled in traffic on Interstate 10 when Robinson, who was pulling a flatbed trailer, rear-ended her.
"The force of the impact drove plaintiff's vehicle into tractor trailer which was stopped in front of her ... causing serious injuries and the vehicle to be totaled," the suit states.
In her suit, Johnson accuses Robinson of failing to keep a proper lookout and JST of negligently hiring and training him.
The plaintiff is suing for past and future mental anguish, medical expenses and lost wages, plus all court costs.
She is represented by attorney Ernest Browne Jr.
The case has been assigned to Judge Pat Clark, 128th Judicial District.
