GALVESTON - A Bacliff man seeks about $5,600 from the city of League City over a car accident three months ago, recent court documents say.
Ramiro Puentes alleges a vehicle owned by the city struck his along FM 270 on March 1.
Puentes's suit was filed June 14 in Galveston County Court No. 3.
According to the original petition, the defendant's driver was traveling southbound while Puentes moved northbound when the former decided to make a u-turn.
"The defendant's driver stated that he did not see another vehicle around him and began a u-turn and then backed up before proceeding again to make a u-turn," the suit says.
"In the process of the u-turn, the defendant's driver saw the plaintiff could not take evasive action before striking the plaintiff."
The driver was not named a party in the case.
Attorney Thomas E. Quirk is representing the plaintiff, and Galveston County Court No. 3 Judge Roy Quintanilla is presiding over the litigation.
