Former employee sues Crawdad's Convenience Stores for discrimination

Claiming race and age discrimination, Cheryl King has filed suit against Crawdad's Convenience Stores.

The suit was filed June 25 in Orange County District Court.

In her suit, King says on Aug. 3, 2009, Crawdad President David Moore told her she was being demoted from manager to assistant manager "for the betterment of the future of the company."

King claims she was then told to train her replacement, court papers say.

She is accusing her employer of race and age discrimination. However, the suit fails to state her age or race.

King is seeking lost wages.

She is represented by Houston attorney Charles Peckham.

The case has been assigned to Judge Dennis Powell, 163rd Judicial District.

Case No. B-100311-c
