Interstate wreck ends in suit

A collision on Interstate 10 has led a Houston resident to file suit against a Florida resident.

Glen Pratt Sr. filed suit against Ashish Maheshkumar Bhakta on June 18 in Orange County District Court.

According to the suit, on June 20, 2008, Pratt was driving on I-10 through Rose City. Traffic was slowed due to an automobile collision.

Allegedly, Bhakta failed to control his speed and struck a van in front of him, "causing a chain reaction that resulted in a 7-car accident," the suit states.

On top of failing to control his speed, Pratt also alleges Bhakta negligently failed to keep a proper lookout.

He is suing for past and future mental anguish, medical expenses and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Pratt is represented by the Law Offices of Gylnda Stowers, located in Sugar Land.

The case has been assigned to Judge Dennis Powell, 163rd Judicial District.

Case No. B-100281-c
