A total of five new lawsuits against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims have been filed in Jefferson County District Court, June 28-July 2, 2010.
The following complaints have been filed:
Decarlos and Seterria Anderson of 5470 Bettes Lane in Beaumont allege National Lloyds Insurance Company denied their claim for structural, roof, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. National Lloyds denied their claim after it assigned Compass Adjusting Services and adjustors Michael Vieregg and Tommy Bunn Jr. to investigate it, according to the complaint. The Andersons will be represented by Amber L. Anderson of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston and by John P. Mabry Jr. of Dunnam and Dunnam in Waco. Jefferson County District Court case number: D187-167.
Isaac Jefferson of 4785 Lufkin St. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied a portion of his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Larry and Letha Lavalais of 3009 Ninth St. in Port Arthur allege Texas Farmers Insurance Company denied their claim for contents, structure, roof, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Lavalaises will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston and by Michael R. Ramsey and Gregory F. Cox of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Bodre Rising, doing business as Rising Chiropractic Clinic and Triangle Health Centers of 5755 College St. in Beaumont, alleges Republic Lloyds denied its claim for business interruption damages caused after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. James Smith and Sarah Dunnam of 8493 FM 365 in Beaumont allege State Farm Fire and Casualty Company denied their claim for contents, foundation, structural, roof, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008.
