GALVESTON - A Galveston County welder is suing his employers over injuries reportedly suffered in a tank explosion two years ago.
Yair Cardenas filed a lawsuit against Fuel & Lube LLC, Brothers Biodiesel LLC, Cortez Investments LLC and Cortez Enterprises II Inc. on July 14 in Galveston County District Court.
According to the complaint, Cardenas was welding a tank in Santa Fe on July 18, 2008, when the tank exploded.
Cardenas claims he hurt his knee, head, ears, and other parts of his body.
The defendants are faulted for negligence, premises liability, and malice.
Consequently, the plaintiff seeks damages for physical and mental pain, suffering and anguish, impairment, and disfigurement.
Cardenas is represented by The Law Firm of Alton C. Todd, and the case has been assigned to Galveston County 10th District Court Judge David Garner.
