Beaumont corporation sues bank for improperly processing credit card transactions

A Beaumont corporation has filed a lawsuit against an Irving bank for breach of contract due to the bank's failure to properly process credit card transactions.

R. J. Wortham Enterprises filed a breach of contract lawsuit against TIB-The Independent Bankersbank on July 9 in Jefferson County District Court.

R. J. Wortham Enterprises acquired credit card processing equipment and services from the bank. However, the plaintiff states the credit cards of its customers were not processed correctly due to the bank's negligence.

The defendant is also accused of breach of contract for failing to properly provide credit card processing equipment and services.

R. J. Wortham Enterprises is seeking actual damages, interest, attorney's fees and costs of suit.

The petitioner is represented by Beaumont attorney Chris Portner of Reaud, Morgan & Quinn. Jury trial requested.

Judge Milton Gunn Shuffield is assigned to the case.
