Couple sues over Galveston wreck

GALVESTON - Gordon and Lora Powell are suing Vada Mills and Thomas Love over a collision on a Galveston County road more than a year ago.

The Powells' suit, filed July 29 in Galveston County Court No. 2, says defendant Love drove his vehicle out of his lane and across the center line on Highway 3 toward that of the plaintiffs, who insist they consequently suffered numerous injuries and disabilities.

According to the original petition, Love originally claimed to own the vehicle, but it was discovered that the car belonged to defendant Mills.

Mills gave Love permission to drive the vehicle, the suit says.

Court papers ultimately blame Love for violating certain traffic rules and regulations and fault Mills for entrusting her vehicle to Love.

Greer, Herz & Adams L.L.P. is representing the plaintiffs, and Galveston County Court No. 2 Judge C.G. "Trey" Dibrell III is presiding over the case.
