Salesman sues for breach of contract after losing job

MARSHALL-A salesman with a Kentucky-based global marketing and print media services company has filed a breach of contract lawsuit after he was terminated from his position.

Stephen T. Nourse filed suit against Southern Graphic Systems Inc. on Aug. 26 in the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division.

Nourse states he substantially performed and fulfilled his obligations under his employment agreement. However, Nourse states he was terminated on July 30 without good cause as required and defined by the employment agreement.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $75,000, plus attorney's fees, interest and court costs.

Defendant Southern Graphic Systems provides services that include package design, prepress, imaging and management of the entire brand development and execution cycle.

The company claims to provide "innovative 'Design-2-Print' solutions to enhance brand identity", in an effort to improve their clients "'Speed-to-Market' demands."

Southern Graphic Systems' corporate office is located in Louisville, Ky., but has operations worldwide, including a location in Richardson.

Nourse is represented by William S. Hommel, Jr. in Tyler. Jury trial is requested.

U.S. District Judge T. John Ward is assigned to the case.
