Three Port Arthur citizens claim they sustained severe injuries after a driver struck their vehicle.
Osias B. Dominguez, Gloribella Dominguez and Allebirolg Dominguez filed a complaint Sept. 23 in Jefferson County District Court against Gwendolyn B. Boudreaux.
The Dominguezes claim they were involved in a collision in Port Arthur on May 15 when Boudreaux failed to control her speed and struck the rear end of their vehicle.
Because of the collision, the Dominguezes suffered severe injuries, extreme physical pain, suffering and mental anguish, according to the complaint. In addition, they suffered injuries to their cervical and lumbar spines and have been forced to undergo extensive physical therapy, the suit states.
Osias B. Dominguez also claims he became physically incapacitated because of injuries he endured.
The Dominguezes blame Boudreaux for causing the collision, saying she negligently failed to maintain a proper lookout, failed to come to a stop before striking their vehicle, failed to timely apply her brakes to avoid the collision, drove too fast and failed to maintain proper control of her vehicle.
In their complaint, the Dominguezes seek an unspecified judgment, plus interest at the legal rate, costs and other relief the court deems just.
Michael Nacol and Lori L. Brown of The Law Offices of Michael Nacol in Houston will be representing them.
The case has been assigned to Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court.
