Latest Hurricane Ike-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County

A total of 12 new complaints against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims were filed in Jefferson County District Court, Oct. 25-29, 2010.

The following complaints were filed:

  • Joseph Monroe and Peggy J. Foreman of 25233 Highway 124 in Hamshire allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for contents, roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. TWIA denied the claim after assigning Nado Insurance Services and adjuster Beatrice Terrill to investigate, according to the complaint. The Foremans will be represented by Gregory F. Cox of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: B188-674.

  • Angela Franklin and Charles Warren of 1716 Rev. Ransom Howard St. in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for contents, foundation, roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. TWIA denied their claim after it assigned All-Tech Claims Management to investigate, according to the complaint. Franklin and Warren will be represented by Michael R. Ramsey of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A188-675.

  • Billy and Bernita Jackson of 758 and 768 Corley St. in Beaumont allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. TWIA denied their claim after assigning Allied American Adjusting Company and adjustor Ryan Byrd to investigate, according to their complaint. The Jacksons will be represented by Gregory F.   • Chris Kirchmer of 2355 Harrison St. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for foundation, structure, roof, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. TWIA denied his claim after assigning adjustor David Barr to investigate, according to the complaint. Kirchmer will be represented by Michael R. Ramsey of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont.   • Manuel Longoria of 846 Lee Ave. in Port Arthur alleges Standard Guaranty Insurance Company denied his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Longoria will be represented by Rocky Lawdermilk of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: B188-679.

  • Sergio Manzo of 3915 Blackberry Lane in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for damages caused to his home after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Manzo will be represented by Rocky Lawdermilk of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D188-680.

  • Jackie and Rose Marie Marshall of 111 21st St. in Nederland allege State Farm Lloyds denied their claim for foundation, structure, roof, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Marshalls will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: D188-689.

  • Neb-Med of 44 North 11th St. in Beaumont alleges Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Company and Texas Windstorm Insurance Association undervalued its claim for damages caused to its property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Neb-Med will be represented by E. Hart Green of Weller, Green, Toups and Terrell in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D188-694.

  • Olsen Kellogg Moving and Storage, doing business as A-OK Moving and Storage, claims Granite State Insurance Company, Cordell and Company Insurance Agency and York Insurance Company have not fully paid its claim for damages caused to its property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The insurance companies denied Olsen's claim after they assigned York Risk Services Group to investigate, according to the complaint. Olsen will be represented by Mitchell A. Toups of Weller, Green, Toups and Terrell in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A188-687.

  • Bruce and Martha Rose of 4918 Broadmoor Drive in Beaumont allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for foundation, roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. TWIA denied their claim after it assigned Specialty Claim Services and adjuster William Dodson to investigate. The Roses will be represented by Michael R. Ramsey of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont.   • Vena Tipton of 958 Townsend in Crystal Beach alleges Ranchers and Farmers Mutual Insurance Company and Aldrich Insurance Agency denied her claim for damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Tipton will be represented by Gregory K. Evans of Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: D188-702.

  • Harold Wilson of 6672 Lexington Drive in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. TWIA denied Wilson's claims after it assigned Sabine Claim Services to investigate. Wilson will be represented by Jeffrey L. Raizner, Michael P. Doyle and Kim Goodling of Doyle Raizner in Houston and by Christopher D. Bertini of Bertini and Associates in Jefferson. Jefferson County District Court case number: D188-704.
