Texas Transeastern sued for employee's wreck

Houston resident Raul Arredondo has filed suit against Texas Transeastern and its employee, Willie Jernigan, who allegedly caused an automobile collision on Highway 69.

The suit was filed Nov. 1 in Jefferson County District Court.

Court papers show that on Dec. 4, 2009, Arredondo was traveling east on Hwy. 69 when Jernigan changed lanes and struck him, causing his vehicle to spin out of control and smash into a median.

In his suit, Arredondo claims Jernigan was negligent for failing to keep a proper lookout and Texas Transeastern negligently entrusted him with its truck.

Arredondo is suing for past and future mental anguish, pain, impairment, lost wages and medical expenses.

He is represented by Houston attorney Trey Smith of Jim Adler & Associates.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
