Convenience store collision results in suit

GALVESTON - A Galveston County man is suing over a two-car accident in the parking lot of a Texas City convenience store.

Plaintiff Robert Pryor claims he was parked at the Little Buddy Convenience Store in the 8500 block of the Emmett F. Lowry Expressway on Oct. 19, 2009, when his vehicle was struck in the rear by Courtney Washington's vehicle.

The suit was filed Oct. 28 in Galveston County District Court.

Washington attempted to make a 360-degree turn in the parking lot and hit the back of the plaintiff's vehicle, according to the original complaint.

Pryor claims to have suffered painful, severe and permanent injuries in addition to property damage to his vehicle as a result of the alleged collision.

He faults the defendant for not maintaining a safe distance or a proper lookout.

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Burwell Nebout is representing him.

The case has been assigned to Galveston County 10th District Court Judge David Garner.

Case No. 10-cv-4058
